Wahay...of sorts

I got my computer back yesterday...finally.
Seems Internet Explorer was corrupt beyond repair and screwing with the overall workings of the computer. A few months ago I upgrade IE7 for IE8 when I was having some major issues with errors that whiped out my windows...constantly. Upgrading sort of helped, but apparently the power surge just corrupted already corrupt files .....fun.

Anyways...the fix was to start from scratch...reload XP ...reload IE...blah blah blah....reload every program I own...argh!!!

I'm getting there....
I've run into a snag in iTunes though.
It's loaded and I've re-imported all my music.
When I click on a song to play in the Music Library though...it plays...but when it's done it doesn't move to the next song automatically

?????

I know it can do it...my previous iTunes did it. I've looked, and I can't figure out what to do to make it automatically move on and play the next song. It's probably something easy too, but I'll be darned if I can find it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Had a momentary power outage early this morning while I was simultaniously watching a movie and surfing the web. Of course this outage presented itself 10 minutes before the end of a movie I have never seen. Rude much!? I was frantically trying to get the satellite signal back up to see what happened with the movie and really wasn't that concerned about the computer.

oops

My comp is usually fine after outages. Just tells me things were shut down without 'consent' or something or other, and asks if I want to open them up again. All good.

Not so much this time...got error messages before anything even started to load. These are internet messages, so I restarted, and unplugged/replugged the router and the internet base.

waited for everything to get going. there are 3 comps in the house, so tried them all. Eventually all comps finally got internet...but mine.

Not good.

My comp has been in need of a clean out for some time and I've been procrastinating to the best of my abilities because it's just one of those things I actually accel at. Procrastination I mean. Lack of money has been a factor as well of course, so it's all just so typical that it would die just as I get my tax return back. In actuality that money is already earmarked for 15 other things and computer wasn't one of those things.

Needless to say, it is sitting in the computer hospital at the moment and I am stuck using my ancient and exceedingly slow lappy that I can't take off the plug because the battery died so long ago.

Still trying to decide if this VERY gorgeous day makes up for this.

Still deciding.

Of course LJ is down as I’m typing this. First time I’ve wanted to actually post something other than a meme lately, and it’s not co-operating. Nice! What can I say...I missed the memo.

Anyways, I’m sitting here with tears streaming down my face. This is not a bad thing. These are soul-soothing tears...tears of awe, when you are listening to something truly beautiful that allows you to soar outside of yourself and may even help find that illusive inner peace.

I said I was game to Tina picking 7 random interests that I have listed in my user info, and I would have to write about them.....so here they are...

1) architecture – architecture is like art to me, with a whackload of science thrown in. I’m just very very interested in how absolutely everything is made. Buildings are like art to me. Building design has both esthetics and function. Walking through a city is for me like walking around an art museum. Modern architecture enthralls me just as much as ancient. Stream-lined designs as well as very detailed. It’s all good ;)

2) astrology – This is more fascination for me because I don't understand it. It’s an interesting thing to think about, that the cosmos could really be tied to ones life. I find it fascinating when my charts actually turn out. I don’t follow my horoscope religiously, but I do find it interesting and kind of freaky when they do sort of match what is going on in my life.

3) laughing – Pretty self explanatory. If you can’t laugh at yourself or certain situations…well?

No one likes to be depressed or grumpy. I try find a reason to laugh every day.

4) medieval history – Actually I find all periods of history interesting. Medieval is a time period in our history know as the “middle age” that is a transitioning period between Ancient and Modern times. ‘Civilization’ was said to have ‘begun’ in this era. As with all times throughout history there is good and bad and I find I learn much from all periods of history. I admit a lot of my fascination stems from the fashion, architecture, art and literature of the time…sweeping gowns, gothic cathedrals and castles...oh my!

5) painting – this is something I haven’t actually done for myself in a long time. I loved to experiment with paint. I love what can be done with oil paints but I found them a huge nuisance to clean up. I was never very good with water colours :S, so I pretty much stuck to acrylics. I actually bought new paints last year, I’m feeling a little trepidatious about starting something :(. I guess it will have to wait till I get a couple other projects done. Oh...and I never said I was good at it either, I just find it can be fun and theraputic at times :P

6) theatre - theatre is a group effort. It is a build up to a final spectacular ‘moment’; moment being when the show comes together live for opening night. Live is what sets it apart from movies and TV. Many artisans working towards one common goal…that’s not an easy feat, and can be very very tense. There is nothing like seeing a production where all the elements mesh…the written words, the actors who perform them, the stunning costumes and sets, the lighting, the sound, the audience… bliss

7) trance - is one of the many styles of music I like. A form of electonica. As with all genres of music I have my likes and dislikes within it. My likes in this genre tend to gravitate to the more atmospheric music that flows smoothly, but is still danceable. Did that make sense?
